The Stade de France, in the Parisian suburbs, is getting a makeover, to transform the site of the 1998 Football World Cup, for this summer Olympic track and field events. The keys are due to be handed over to the Paris-2024 Organizing Committee on June 1.

The makeover included purple track, 5G and giant screens. The project began in 2020, taking advantage of the forced closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Six refreshment bars for the general public have been added, the command post renovated, and sports and architectural lighting modernized.
