Flooding from heavy rain has destroyed homes and submerged farmland in provinces across China.

In the Shanxi province more than 120,000 people were evacuated as thousands of houses collapsed due to flooding. 190,000 hectares of crops and a 25-meter section of a wall in the historic town of Pingyao, a UNESCO world heritage site were damaged.

Four traffic police officials were killed in a landslide. In neighbouring Shaanxi Province, more than 20,000 people in Dali County were relocated when flooding broke a dam and submerged farmlands. In northern China, in the city of Shijiazhuang, a bus fell into a river on Monday, leaving at least two people dead and 12 others missing.
