Tourism Development: Ministry Holds Coordination Meeting

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism on Thursday held a coordination meeting to prepare for tourism development and a meeting with the National Tourism Development Central Committee.

In this meeting, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn stressed 3 tasks to develop tourism sector in the post-COVID-19 period. The 1st task for resumption of hotels and tourism in regions and states was completed.

The 2nd task to implement 5 pilot projects is in progress, and, arrangements for the 3rd task which is to fulfill requirements of tourists is done.

He also called for plans to make the hotel and tourism sector adhere to COVID-19 prevention guidelines. The Union Minister also stressed the need to systematically prepare for the upcoming meeting of the National Tourism Development Central Committee. This meeting continued with discussions on sector-wide work processes by concerned officials in detail in which the Union Minister coordinated the discussions.
