Tourism development: Russian Language Basic Course opened by MoHT

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism opened the Basic Russian language course at the Jasmine Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday and the course is aimed to be convenient for Russian tourists in language when visiting Myanmar.

During the ceremony, Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr. Thet Thet Khaing made a speech, saying that Russian language courses are being opened across the country with the aiming to avoid language difficulties for the Russia tourists when they visit Myanmar’s destinations and to be able to know their traditions and customs in advance.

The topics on the tourism promotion are being uploaded on the Ministry’s Website in 10 languages including Russia and the government has also carried out to ease entry visas and health restrictions to attract more Russian tourists.

She added that the ministry also attends the World Tourism Exhibitions and meetings which are held in Russia and cooperates with tourism authorized organizations of the two countries to promote the tourism industry. She urged everyone to cooperate in keeping the destination areas to be cleaned and beautiful to attract more local and foreign visitors.

Then, the Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw council discussed matters relating to tourism development and Welcome Russia program in Myanmar, invitations of foreign media and advertising, tourism attractions, arrivals of foreign tourists, language courses to be opened in future and the aims.

The basic course of Russia language will take place 4 weeks from 18th September to 14th October and instructors from Russia-Myanmar Friendship Association will teach 54 participants. The Russia Language (basic and diploma) courses have been opened for 12 times nationwide and 493 participants have been trained.
