Traditional Medicines: Meeting with stakeholders of traditional medicine held

Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr. Thet Khaing Win held meeting with the Directors-General, officials from the Department of Traditional Medicine, Patron members of Myanmar Traditional Medicine Council, members of the Council, members of the Advisory Board of Traditional Medical Expertise, members of Myanmar Traditional Medical Practitioners and the members of Myanmar Traditional Medicine Producers and Entrepreneurs at the hall of COVID-19 Central Command Center, Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

At the meeting, the Union Minister said that it’s being carried out to form the traditional medicine council and executive committee as soon as possible, forming the traditional medicine council is important at the moment, the responsibility to steer the ethics of private traditional medical hospitals and clinics and the traditional medical practitioners lays upon the council, Myanmar traditional medicine producers and entrepreneurs would like to urge to carry out the development of traditional medical society with the collaboration and unity, it should be prioritized to produce the safe and authentic traditional medicines as the 70% of rural population mainly depend on the traditional medicines.

Next, the patron member of Myanmar Traditional Medicine Council, Secretary of Traditional Medicine Council, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Traditional Medical Expertise, Chairman of Myanmar Traditional Medical Practitioners, Chairman of Myanmar Traditional Medicine Producers and Entrepreneurs and attendees reported related matters and the Union Minister gave a speech of conclusion.
