Training Of Trainers: Tot Program On Mobile Tablets For Public Health Supervisors

Training of Trainers for the public Health supervisors (II) across the nation by using mobile tablets was opened the Ministry of Health and Sports in Nay Pyi Taw, Sunday. At the ceremony, Union Minster Dr. Myint Htwe said that in accord with more developing of internet network and electronic equipments in Myanmar, the refresher courses and capacity enhancement courses of the Ministry will be emphasized more with e-learning starting COVID-19 period.

The Ministry has already distributed more than 20,000 mobile tablets to basic health staffs as well as station and township medical officers in 12 Regions and States and tablets will be distribute to remaining 5 regions and states.

The work guidelines, procedures, books and documents on health awareness as well as applications have been installed in the mobile tablets.

It will benefit not only for enhancing knowledge and capacity of basic health staffs and individual professionals of the Ministry but also for people who are receiving health care services from them. The Union Minister added that according to the current statistics, there are over 1,800 rural health centers, 8,700 rural health centers (branch), 348 maternal and child health centers and 93 regional health centers/ branches and over 30,000 basic health staffs are serving there. Starting from this TOT program, plans have been drafted to conduct multiplier courses in Regions and States.

By using mobile tablets, the E-Health Center (Branch) under the Ministry is drafting Self-Paced E-Learning lessons and he called for the staffs to effectively use the tablets. The heads of Region/State Public Health Department and township health officers are attending TOT training that will last three days.
