The 29th Sarajevo Film Festival opened with “Kiss the Future”, a documentary that recounts how rock band U2 came to play a concert in Sarajevo on August 11. Irish rock band U2, Bono and "The Edge" walked the red carpet as the new U2 documentary "Kiss the Future".
Northern Irish director Mark Cousins received an honorary award, the Heart of Sarajevo, at the festival for his outstanding contribution to the art of filmmaking. The Heart of Sarajevo is the highest prize awarded in all the competition categories at the Sarajevo Film Festival.
