Union Day celebration: SAC member read out the Union Day Message

The 77th Anniversary Union Day celebration was held in grandeur at Khaing Thazin Hall in Sittwe Township on Monday morning. The celebration was attended by Member of the State Administration Council Dr. Ba Shwe, along with Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and wife, Deputy Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Zaw Aye Maung, Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Daw Nu Mra Zan, state government members, departmental personnel, town-elders, trainers, trainees, teachers and students as well as invited guests.

On the occasion, Member of the State Administration Council Dr. Ba Shwe read out the message marking 77th Anniversary Union Day sent by the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. After that, Member of the State Administration Council and party distributed prizes to the winners of chess tournament so also essay contests of the primary, middle and high school level and higher education level, commemorating  and of 77th Anniversary Union Day.

The SAC member and party also observed the monastery damaged by Cyclone Mocha. Later, they visited the Lawkananda Pagoda to pay homage and offer flowers and water.  Subsequently, he greeted the staff of the Department of Ethnical Literature and Culture and expressed his commitment to finding a solution for armed conflicts.

In the afternoon, he met with displaced staff members at the Rakhine State government’s guesthouse meeting room. He reassured them to help relieve their challenges, including surging commodity prices. The delegation also toured the Cyclone Mocha-affected Sittway University, assessing the maintenance progress of its main hall and convocation building. 

During the visit, he engaged with faculty members, providing updates on the status of ongoing armed conflicts and the efforts underway to maintain order. The faculty members, in turn, provided Dr Ba Shwe with updates on the status of day and distance education students.
