Viet Nam’s National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue chaired a welcoming ceremony and held talks with President of the House of Councillors of Japan, Otsuji Hidehisa on Tuesday.

The visit occurs as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary.  President of the House of Councillors Otsuji Hidehisa is the first head of the Japanese Legislature to visit Viet Nam in more than three years due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

The National Assembly Chairman believes the visit will further promote cooperation between the two Legislatures and strengthen friendly relations and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.

At the conference, both parties agreed to strengthen consultation, coordination, and support for each other's positions at multilateral forums and important international and regional organisations of which Vietnam and Japan are members, such as the UN, ASEAN, and APEC.
