Vietnam PM meets Japanese PM Kishida in Tokyo

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida met with his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh in Tokyo on Wednesday confirming bilateral cooperation in areas such as security and COVID-19 treatments. 

Kishida agreed to additionally provide 1.5 million doses of COVID vaccines to Vietnam. Japan has donated 5.6 million doses in total as well as medical equipment and materials for the coronavirus. The two confirmed that they would work closely together to realise a "free and open Indo-Pacific" region, cooperating together to tackle regional issues.
