Vocational Education: Websites For Technical And Vocational Education Launched

The launching event of the websites for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) schools was held in Yangon on Friday.

The 6 Technical and Vocational Education and Training schools and a teachers’ training school under the Department of TVET have launched their new official websites with the support of GIZ Myanmar.

Head, GIZ Skills Cluster Myanmar, Eiko Kauffmann said “We are supporting the Ministry of Education by creating websites for the different TVET schools which is three in Yangon, two in Mandalay and one in Taungyi. There would be able to have a public appearance and to be able to show prospective students, teachers...”

The Department of TVET has an official web page with the address www.tvetmyanmar.org covering all the general information for the whole department. Each of total 6 TVET schools under the department didn’t have its respective web page before and now TVET Myanmar has launched the websites for those schools and a teachers’ training school.

Deputy Director, Department of TVET, Ministry of Education, Dr. Nay Myo Htet said “The information from schools can’t be distributed rapidly to the public. We implement the measures of information portal for TVET schools. So the people from any regions and states can easily access more information like how many and what kind of trainings and courses we have for short term and long term and the job opportunity we are offering.”

This learning portal websites were designed and developed with the four main functions by the SKYLARK Myanmar. The interactively information exchange about courses and trainings between students and school and schools by schools, the management aids for teachers and trainers will be accessible. 

Managing Director, SKYLARK Myanmar, Min Myat Soe Moe said “We are going to support all the technical aids for this learning portal websites. And we are planning to expand the more updated functions and features to the websites.”

The public can easily access the information from Insein GTI, Shwe Pyi Thar GTI, Mandalay GTI, Ywama GTHS, Taungyi GTHS, Mandalay GTHS, and Technical Promotion Training Center-Baelin  from the respective official websites.
