Weightlifting Course (1/2022): Union Minister Attends Opening Ceremony

The Weightlifting trainer course (1/2022) jointly organized by the Sports and Physical Education Department and Myanmar Weight Lifting Federation was held at the Nay Pyi Taw Sports Training Center on Monday.
The course aimed for the development of weight lifting, emergence of new generation athletes and knowing changing rules and regulations that are currently being applied to sports competitions. At the event, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan said that the weightlifting sports won 91 gold medals, 62 silvers and 65 bronze medals, totaling 218 medals in international sports competitions for Myanmar and it is the sport that has achieved continuous achievement.
The government is supporting stadiums and gymnasiums in order to systematically train athletes and to improve Myanmar sports field.
The Union Minister called for the trainees to learn the lessons practically and theoretically in the course to be able to share the knowledge to new generation weightlifters in their respective regions where they will be assigned. The course period is from 5th to 9th September and 6 trainers from Myanmar Weightlifting Federation will conduct the course and 62 trainees will attend it.
The Union Minister and party then viewed practicing of SepakTakraw and Taekwondo athletes at the Training Hall No.3 and called for taking care of health and systematic training. The Union Minister then looked into repairing of floors at WunnanTheikdhiStadium (c) and stressed the needs on completion of the tasks within target time and fulfilled the needs.
