Youth Affairs Seminar: Improving Social And Communication Skills

A seminar on youth affairs was held at the No.14 Basic Education High School in Mandalay. This kind of seminar is the first time in Chan Aye ThaZan Township, Mandalay Region.

It was jointly conducted by the Department of Basic Education and the Department of Information and Public Relations Department. 

TunTunNaing, Staff Officer, IPRD (Chan Aye Thazan Township) said “The seminar aims for the students to have good social dealing, health, intelligent and communication skills. 8 topics are discussed at the seminar and the topics that are beneficial for the youths are mainly discussed.”

At the seminar, the health knowledge, effects from the use of narcotic drugs, the benefits from sports, reading books, youths and nationalistic spirit, good environment for the youths, youths and civic education, youths and charity works, volunteer mindset were shared and discussed.

EiAung (Grade-11), No.14 B.E.H.S (Chan Aye Thazan) said “The essential things for young people life are discussed. Among the topics, the subject I like most is “Youths and narcotic drugs”. Because, narcotic drugs are really an obstacle to improve the life of young people and youths should not use narcotics. I hope to hold this kind of seminar annually. In the next time, the subject about “Youths and IT” should be included I think because today, the technology is developing rapidly and the youths should have IT knowledge more.

Likewise, the awareness seminars on youth affairs, mobile library and improving reading habits were also held at the Basic Education High Schools in Mandalay District.
