The 2022 Space-out Competition was held at the Jamsugyo Bridge, located in South Korea’s Seoul City on Sunday. Contestants stare off into space without talking or using their phones for consecutive 90 minutes.

Heart rates are checked every 15 minutes, while the person with the most stable heart rate is deemed the winner. People can be disqualified for laughing, checking smartphones and sleeping.

Contestants can make special requests by showing cards with different colors when they are thirsty, have to use restrooms, and even need a massage.

The competition aims to bring greater awareness to everyone in the world that brains need to rest and recharge in order for people to properly process information and handle stress, according to its organizer.
