78th Anniversary: Myanmar Fire Brigade Day Ceremony in Sittwe

Rakhine State Government on Sunday held a ceremony to mark the 78th Anniversary of the Myanmar Fire Brigade Day.
At the ceremony in Sittwe, Chief Minister U Htein Lin highlighted that the Fire Brigade has been working on natural disaster prevention, search, rescue and public benefit activities. Fire outbreak occurs every year in Rakhine State, and in the 10-year period from 2014 to 2023, about 889 fire outbreaks occurred in the State. On average, the entire state has 88 fire outbreaks in a year, and the annual property loss is about 409 million Kyats.
The Chief Minister also urged members of the Fire Brigade to continue making efforts to maintain the trust gained from the public. And, certificates of honour and cash awards were presented to the outstanding Fire Brigade members. This ceremony continued with screening a video record honouring the Fire Brigade. There, the Chief Minister toured the display of search and rescue equipment, photographs documenting the Fire Brigade's public service activities and booths documenting search and rescue operations.
