ASEAN Economic Integration: 45th Meeting of the High-level Task Force

Integration- HLTF-EI, held in Ban Na Binhof Laos from 19th to 21st February.

The meeting was chaired by Lao Ministry of Industry and Trade Deputy Minister Dr.ManothongVongsay and participated by representatives of the ASEAN Economic Integration High Level Task Force from ASEAN member states, ASEAN Deputy Secretary General and officials.

The meeting reviewed the progress made in setting the 14 priorities plans under Laos' ASEAN chairmanship in 2024, which has three main components including integration and economic connectivity, creating a sustainable future for all parties involved, and transition to a digital future. The meeting also reviewed on implementations status of ASEAN Economic Community Roadmap-2025, and recommendations for implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision in 2045.

They also discussed on the roadmaps which will be presented to ASEAN economic ministers for consideration and approval at the 30th ASEAN Economic Ministers meeting which Laos will host and chair from 8th to 9th March 2024. Then,the HLTF-EI had a plenary meeting with the AEC Eminent Persons and ASEAN Inter- Parliamentary Assembly-AIPA.
