The 75th anniversary of the Artillery Corps was celebrated in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday, with Chairman of the State Administration Council and Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, gracing the event.

The ceremonial opening ceremony was marked by the Senior General's congratulatory speech, where he acknowledged the effective service of duties during military operations and public services. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing expressed pride in the Artillery Corps, recognizing it as an internationally acclaimed institution. He urged all members to continue their strenuous efforts in upholding the nation's defense duty and passing down the fine traditions of the unit to the next generation.

The ceremony featured a screening of a documentary video and a performance by the members on the theme song "The God of War." Following the event, the Senior General and party toured the exhibition. Originally established in May 1946 as No.1 Field Artillery, the unit transformed into No.6 Battalion in October 1947.

During the internal conflict in February 1949, the Artillery Corps was formed by the Order of General Nay Win, designating that day as Artillery Corps Day. This year marks the Diamond Jubilee anniversary of the Artillery Corps, commemorating 75 years of dedicated service.
