Ethnics Culture Festival: Festival To Be Held In Yangon From 1st To 7th February

Myanmar Ethnics Culture Festival will be held at Kyaikkasan Sports Ground in Yangon for the 2nd time from 1st to 7th February, according to a press conference by its organizers, Monday.

Under the guidance of the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, and the Yangon Region and Kayah State Governments, the festival will be organized by Myanmar Ethnic Entrepreneurs Association and Kayin State Entrepreneurs Association.

According to the organizer, the 20-feet Tharabar Gate, acknowledged by UNESCO, will be installed at the entrance to the festival. The 15-feet tall statues of four ancient famous Myanmar generals – Kyansittha, Nga Htwe Yuu, Nga Lone La Phe, and Nyaung Oo Phee will be also installed.

Over a thousand stalls will be displayed at the event, showcasing traditional clothing, regional products, traditional gifts and utensils, handicrafts and ethnic cuisine. In addition, there will be entertainment programs of each ethnic group, and photo booths to take pictures in traditional ethnic settings.

Visitors can enjoy Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality technical booths depicting the landmarks of ethnic races. The organizer also said over 800,000 people visited the festival last year and this year they expect to receive around 1.2 million visitors.
