Final Rites: Remains of Late Naga Hnakaung Sayadaw cremated

The final rites of the Late Presiding Patron Sayadaw of Naga Hnakaung Monastery in Tachileik Township, Shan State (East), State Ovadacariya Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Dr. Bhaddanta Dhammasiri , took place in Tachileik in the afternoon of 6th April. First, Sayadaws recited the Samvega Gahta and Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye and congregation took the Five Precepts from Thanlyin Min Kyaung Sayadawgyi.

Then the remains of Sayardaw was covered with the diamond velvet and the respective Sayardaws read the messages of Samvega sent by the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, Shan State Sangha Nayaka Committee, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture and International Theravada Buddhist Missionaries. 

After that, the biography of the Late Naga Hnakaung Sayadaw was read out and the congregations offered robe and donations to the Sayadaw at the designated places dedicating to the Late Sayadaw. Next, Sanghas recited Samvega Gahtar and shared the merit gains. Later, the remains of Sayadaw were conveyed to the incineration chamber and cremated.
