Gender Equality: MOSWRR UM met with Gender Focal Persons

Organized by the Department of Social Welfare, a coordination meeting with Gender Focal Persons to be able to support in implementing National Strategic Plan for Women's Development: NSPAW Phase II (2023-2032) was held at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement on Tuesday.

At the meeting, the Union Minister Dr. Soe Win gave the opening speech saying that one leading committee and twelve working committees are formed to be able to implement NSPAW II (2023-32) and this meeting is to inform work process (draft), ongoing conditions and further procedures of NSPAW II (2023-32) and it is needed to understand the gender consideration strategic framework in all sectors in ASEAN region implemented by the organizations from all sectors under three ASEAN Community Pillars, the attendees Gender Focal Persons are called to discuss for setting Terms of Reference of Gender Specialists to foster Gender Equality, Women Empowerment and action plans of NSPAW II (2023-32).

Next, the director of Women’s Development Division made reports and the clarification on gender consideration strategic framework in ASEAN region, action plans of NSPAAW and setting ToR for Gender Focal Persons and attendees made the discussion for that. The meeting was concluded after giving concluding remark by the director general.
