Honorary Medals Conferment Ceremony : SG confers Military Gallantry Medals to the recipients

A ceremony to confer honorary medals for military gallantry performances was held at the Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

Chairman of the State Administration Council and Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Senior General ThadoeMahaThraySithuThadoeThiriThudhamma Min Aung Hlaing, delivered a speech at the event. He emphasized that, on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day, honorary awards were presented to those who bravely sacrificed their lives for historical duties.

The Senior General highlighted the importance of upholding the nation's interests in the face of interference by powerful colonialists who use various tactics to manipulate small countries politically, economically, and socially. He stressed the need for the entire nation, including the Tatmadaw, to safeguard the country's interests in the wake of multi-faceted wars reaching urban areas.

The Senior General also commended the outstanding performance of the spouses and families of Tatmadaw members in serving their defense duties during emergencies. He urged all to continue fostering patriotism with genuine nationalistic fervor, becoming examples for the new generation to emulate while upholding order and duty. During the ceremony, the Senior General presented gallantry medals to 25 recipients, including 3 Lt-Generals, 9 Majors, 10 Captains, 1 Lieutenant, 2 Warrant Officer II, and 1 Lance Corporal.

Additionally, on behalf of the Commander-in-Chief, the respective Command Commanders will present Ye Thura titles to 9 recipients, Ye Bala titles to 99 recipients, medals for Excellent Performance in Managerial Field (First Class) to 14 recipients, Second Class to 28 recipients, and Third Class to 34 recipients.

Medals for Excellent Performance in Social Field (First Class) will be awarded to 3 recipients, Second Class to 6 recipients, and Third Class to 3 recipients. Furthermore, medals for Excellent Performance in Industrial Business (First Class) will be given to 5 recipients, Second Class to 10 recipients, and Third Class to 33 recipients.

The ceremony will also include the presentation of the gallantry certificate of the Commander in Chief of Defence Services to 111 recipients and the honorary certificate of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services to 404 recipients, totaling 480 recipients.
