Honoring Blood Donors: MoH UM presented medals and certificates of honor

The ceremony of honoring blood donors who donated blood for 45th time was held at the University of Nursing (Yangon) on 20th January with the presence of Union Minister for Health Professor Dr. ThetKhaing Win, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thien.
First, the Union Minister gave words of honor saying that the blood donors’ donation is the great contribution and crucial help as the patients who need blood transfusion can be helped by nothing but the blood.
In undergoing treatment of blood transfusion, since it’s needed to have the required amount of blood at necessary time, the practice of donating prior to the requirement of blood has been exercising.
Due to such donations, during 2023, the National Blood Center could distribute 93,385 units of blood for the patients without expense and worrying to find the blood donor. That’s because of the contribution of the blood donors.
In the country, there are one National Blood Center, 7 blood banks attached to the Mandalay, Magway, Mawlamyaing, Myitkyina, Taunggyi, Pathein and Nay Pyi Taw General Hospitals and the blood banks attached to the laboratory at 200 and 100-bed hospitals.
Blood Management System (BMS) Software has been installed and utilizing. There are 9, 625 new blood donors and 29,966 constant donors this year. Those who provided necessary arrangements for the donors to be able to donated blood consecutively are thankful.
Next, the Union Minister and Yangon Region Chief Minister presented certificate of honor and cash of honor to 16 blood donors who received medal for excellent social performance and medal of honor and certificate of honor to 30 donors who donated blood for over hundred times.
Then, the children who have recovered after undergoing constant blood transfusion presented with the songs and dances and the Yangon Region Chief Minister presented cash of honor to the children.
