Hundreds Evacuated Due to Floods

The high intensity of rainfall inSouth Sumatra, Indonesia caused a heavy flood in the area on Tuesday and left hundreds of residents being evacuated to emergency shelters. At least 49 houses were heavily damaged while more than 2,800 were inundated due to floods. Meanwhile, a suspension bridge on the area fell down, disrupting road access that was also inundated with up to a meter-high flood.
According to the National Search and Rescue Agency found 32 villages in four districts were still inundated. The joint search and rescue team had evacuated 100 local residents. One person was declared missing, and the team is still on the search.Recently, the joint search and rescue team is still evacuating residents trapped in their houses using rubber boats.
