Indian-Russian firms to jointly manage Sri Lankan airport

An Indian firm and a Russian company have been jointly appointed to manage the operations of Sri Lanka’s Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport. The transfer of management responsibilities approved by Sri Lanka’s Cabinet of Ministers, heralds a new era of international cooperation in optimizing the airport’s performance.
The decision grants Shaurya Aeronautics from India and Airports of Regions Management Company from Russia the authority to oversee operations in the airport’s southern region.As per the proposal submitted, the selected Indian and Russian firms will manage the airport for a period of 30 years.
