Micro-Marathon Event: Yangon Region Government commemorates 76th Independence Day

In celebration of the 76th Independence Day, the Yangon Region Government organized a Micro-Marathon event on Wednesday morning.

The race attracted over 900 participants who started the course from the Secretariat (Former Ministers’ Office), passing through the Pansodan Overpass and Mawtin Overpass. Chief Minister U Soe Thein, accompanied by regional ministers, departmental personnel, officials from the Sports and Physical Education Department, and relatives of the participants, cheered on the runners along the routes.

The Micro-Marathon saw officials presenting prizes to the winners in three age categories: aged 8 – 12, aged 13 – 18 and aged 18 and above. In addition, the event also recognized and rewarded the dedication of participants in various age groups. Honorary cash rewards were presented to four individuals aged 48, 53, 62, and 82, respectively.
