Nikki Haley has announced on Wednesday she is dropping out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination after winning just two Republican primaries.

It comes after Donald Trump swept almost all of the Republican contests, paving the way for a face off with President Joe Biden in November. Nikki Haley, former Republican governor of South Carolina  said "I am filled with the gratitude for the outpouring of support we've received from all across our great country but the time has now come to suspend my campaign. I said I wanted Americans to have their voices heard, I have done that. I have no regrets. And although I will no longer be a candidate, I will not stop using my voice for the things I believe in."

Haley was Trump's last remaining rival for the Republican presidential nomination. She captured Vermont on Super Tuesday but it was just her second win, along with Washington DC.
