Opening New Health Facilities: MoH UM opened new nurse and midwife buildings

The ceremony of unveiling new 6-storey building of Myanmar Nurse and Midwife Council was held in Bahan Township on 19th January and was opened by the Union Minister for Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Chairperson of MNMC Daw Nwet Nwet Khin by cutting the ceremonial ribbon.

Next, the Union Minister and party sprinkled the inscription with scented water. Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister for Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win said that Myanmar Nurse and Midwife Council according to the Myanmar Nurse and Midwife Council Law signed by the President on 19th of May, 2015, is carrying out the education and better workplace qualification of the nurses and midwives, regulating the codes of conduct and nurse and midwife registration and license with 7 work committees comprised of 60 Council members including 15 Central Executive Committee Members.

As the over hundred-year-old original building has the shortage of space and weaknesses, this new building is constructed and opened. Myanmar Nurse and Midwife Council is an organization which is facilitating to implement the health objectives of the Ministry as well as it is a Regulatory Body for the disciplines and code of conducts regarding with the nurses and midwives.

It's appreciated with enabling to present Initial Accreditation Status and Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Next, the Yangon Region Chief Minister extended words of honor and a documentary video clip of constructing 6-storey building.

After presenting certificate of honor to the donors by the Union Minister, Chief Minister and Chairperson of Myanmar Nurse and Midwife Council, the MNMC Chair expressed words of thanks.

Next, the documentary group phot was taken and the Yangon Region government Chief Minister provided cash assistance to the Chairperson of Myanmar Nurse and Midwife Council.

Then, the Union Minister and party looked round the qualification testing room of nurses and midwives in the new building, libraries and archive room.

Afterward, the ceremony of unveiling new RC 5-storey administrative and training facility of Central Midwifery Training School (Yangon) under the Department of Human Resources for Health was held and opened by the Union Minister, Chief Minister, Director General of the Department by cutting the ceremonial ribbon and sprinkled it with scented water.

Next, the Union Minister gave an opening remark, the Yangon Region Chief Minister extended words of congratulation and the principal of the training school expressed words of thank.

After taking a documentary group photo, the trainees presented song of honor and the Chief Minister provided 10 million Kyats of cash assistance for the training school.

Then, the Union Minister, Chief Minister and party looked round the new 5-srotey building including training room, practical room, computer lab and giving training to the midwifery students with teaching aids in the administrative and training facility.
