Preparations Underway: Meeting for 77th Union Day Ceremony

Vice-Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win on Monday afternoon in his capacity as Chairman of the Central Committee on Organizing the 77th Union Day Ceremony addressed the Committee’s 1st coordination meeting.

In his address at the office of the State Administration Council’s Chairman, the Vice-Senior General highlighted 5 objectives of the Ceremony – to protect the Union with the spirit of the Union, to work together to fully achieve peace and law enforcement in the country, to promote the role of MSME and manufacturing activities based on agriculture, to work together for the country's prosperity and food security and to make efforts for development of a modern developed union based on democracy and federalism.

The Vice Senior General urged attendees to coordinate with each other to make the Ceremony better this year in line with the COVID-19 prevention guidelines. As the Union Day ceremony is a state-level ceremony, security matters.

The event must include MSME and regional products as well as entertainment programme, the Vice-Senior General added. And, attendees made discussions on formation of committees, tasks, plans and preparations to successfully hold the 77th Union Day Ceremony, and the Vice-Senior General coordinated the discussions.
