Rural Development: Plans for rural economy and water scarcity during summer

Aiming for creating small scale enterprises and for continuous implementation of master plan for increasing incomes of families in rural areas, a workshop on Drafting Business Plan and Financial Statement took place at the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

During the meeting, Union Minister U Hla Moe delivered an opening speech, saying that the workshop is set to be held from 21st to 23rd December and during the meeting, drafting business plan and its types, digital economy and its roles, advantages of digital economy and drafting financial statement will be discussed.

Moreover, the methods and knowledge from the discussion will be conducted to those who will run their businesses. Then, the Union Minister attended a coordination meeting organized by the Department of Rural Development on preparation for scarcity of drinking water for villages during summer 2024.

During the meeting, the Union Minister gave instructions saying that in solving water storages problem in villages, it is needed to provide rapid responses systematically by drafting short and long term master plans after analyzing the main sources of water scarcity in the regions, in additional to distributing drinking water. He added that about 65 percent of present water usages and business operation have already been collected by using Rural Water Supply –Management Information System RWS-MIS, and it is needed to expand water supply activities and long-term operating of completion businesses to meet the target of Sustainable Development Goals and Myanmar Sustainable Development Plan in 2030.

Then, the Union Minister coordinated the requirements upon the reports by the officials. Afterwards, the Union Minister and party visited Tha Htay Gone Village in Pyinmana Township and inspected the maize cultivation using Russian natural fertilizer. After giving necessary instructions, the Union Minister inspected broiler farming processes.
