South Korea holds an emergency meeting after North's missile launch

South Korean presidential office convened an emergency security meeting on Friday to discuss what appeared to be North Korea's third missile launch in just over week. South Korea's military said unidentified short-range projectiles were fired at 2:59 a.m. and 3:23 a.m. local time on Friday from North Korea's South Hamgyong Province into the East Sea.

North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles early on July 31, only days after it launched two similar missiles on July 25. The meeting was presided by the head of the presidential security office, and attended by ministers at the presidential Blue House.
