Spreading disinformation: Fake news on incident in Sagaing Region

One of the illegal destructive media outlets DVB is spreading disinformation through social media platforms, alleging that a woman was killed and about 15 civilians were injured in Kangyi Village, Pearl Township of Sagaing Region due to airstrike launched by Tatmadaw on 31st January.

So called PDF terrorist groups are committing terror acts in villages within Sagaing Region such as setting fire to residential houses, launching drop bomb and homemade bomb attacks and firing improvised guns in residential areas and causing casualties and injuries.

According to a security official, PDF terrorists launched drop bomb attack using drones on Kangyi Village as the village residents refused to support their terror acts. The illegal destructive media outlets are deliberately spreading false information to create misunderstanding among public.
