Terrorist Attacks: Two innocents injured in Sittwe by AA insurgents

Two people were injured due to an attack by AA terrorist insurgents. At around 1:00 am on the morning of 16th March, the terrorists launched heavy weapon attack from the site of Ponnakyun,resulting in the explosion at the residential areas in Sittwe of Rakhine State.
The shells exploded near a house in Koneboung ward, leaving a man and a woman sustaining injuries. The victims were sent to People’s hospital (500-bedded) in Sittwe to receive treatment.
AA terrorist insurgents committed terror attacks, aiming to destroy the socio-economic life of local residents, to make people panic and to destabilize the State. A total of 13 attacks have been launched by the AA, targeting the residential areas in Sittwe on the 28th and 29th of February, as well as on the 9th, 11th, 13th and 16th of March. These attacks resulted in the death of 18 residents including 12 years old children, and injuring 47 others including two students taking matriculation exams.
Moreover, various infrastructures including schools, houses and departmental buildings were destroyed. Claiming themselves to serve the welfare of Rakhine State, the AA terrorist insurgents, are committing subversive activities and terror acts such as launching attacks intentionally on towns and villages with heavy weapons, and destroying educational infrastructures.
According to the Geneva Conventions and International Law, attacking the non-military targets like schools and residential areas is committing a war crime, and the local people find it totally unacceptable and strongly condemned their action.
