Union Day in Mandalay:Mandalay Region CM read out Union Day Message

The ceremony of State Flag hoisting and reading out message marked the 2024 77th Anniversary Union Day was held the lawn of Mandalarthiri Sports Ground in Chanmyathazi Township of Mandalay Region in the morning on 12 February. First, the State Flag hoisting ceremony of 77th Anniversary Union Day was held at 5:30 AM and attended by the region minister for security and border affairs Col. Nay Lin Soe, region ministers.

The State flag hoisting platoon hoisted the State Flage to the top of the mast with the accompaniment of drum and bugle corps and gave a salute to it.  

The ceremony of reading out the Union Day Message was held at the same venue and attended by the Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung and wife, military officials, region ministers and wives, the Deputy Consul-General of the Consulate of the People’s Republic of China Mr. Zhang Wei in Mandalay and the Deputy Consul-General of the Consulate of the Republic of India Mr. Sundeep Kaushal in Mandalay, departmental officials, students and teachers from Universities, Degree Colleges and Public and Private Schools, civil society organizations, members of Mandalay based ethnic communities and the local residents. 

At the ceremony, first, the Chief Minister, Senior military officials, region ministers, departmental officials and attendees saluted the State flag and the Chief Minister read out the message sent by the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing to the 77th Anniversary Union Day Celebration. After the ceremony, Chief Minister cordially greeted the members of ethnic communities and viewed the charity feast hosted by the Union ethnic brethren at the pandals.
