Union Day in Mon State: Mon State CM read out Union Day Message

The State flag hoisting and saluting ceremony marked the 2024 77th Anniversary Union Day was held at Mawrawady Park in Mawlamyaing Township in the morning on 12th February. First, the national flag hoisting company and the Drum and Bugle Corps carried out the hoisting State Flag and saluting the fallen national heroes.

At the 7 AM, the ceremony of saluting State Flag and reading out the message marked the 2024 77th Anniversary Union Day was held at the same venue and attended by Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, Commander of South-East Command Brigadier General Soe Min and wife, Chief Justice of State high Court, State ministers and wives and invited guests.

First, the company of guard of honor and the drum and bugle corps took the place and saluted the Chief Minister followed giving salute to the State Flag and fallen national leaders. Then, the Chief Minister read out the message sent by the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing to the 77th Anniversary Union Day message reading ceremony.

Afterward, the Chief Minister, Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, Commander of South-East Command Brigadier General Soe Min and wife, Chief Justice of State high Court, State ministers and wives and departmental officials and civil society organizations attended the ceremony of 61st Anniversary of Taung Waing Home for Aged in Mawlamyaing Township.

At the ceremony, the Chairman of the Board of Trustee of  the Taung Waing Home for Aged U Myo Aung clarified the work undertakings of the home. Then, the attendees led by the Chief Minister and Commander paid obeisance to the older persons and a male older person and a female older person prayed and sent loving-kindness.

Afterward, the Chief Minister, Commander, Chief Justice of State High Court, State Ministers, departmental officials, Township elders and well wishers offered items and cash to the older persons.
