Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation U Bo Bo Kyaw visited Taikkyi Township in Yangon Region on April 5th to inspect the progress of the Ahtetsu (Myit Kyo) River Water Pumping Project. He urged officials to explore possible water resources for irrigation, promote mixed cropping cultivation, and conduct awareness tasks for farmers.

The Ahtetsu (Myit Kyo) River Water Pumping Project aims to supply irrigated water to about 1,800 farmlands, with plans underway to extend this service to an additional 1,500 farmlands through the Thayetchaung Main Canal.

Later, the Deputy Minister proceeded to the construction site of the Thanut Chaung Dam, which will facilitate water supply to the newly established breeding zone near Kyar Chaung Village. Subsequently, he inspected the Left Main Canal of the Tabu Hla catchment area.

This facility has provided irrigated water to over 6,000 acres of farmland, exceeding the previous year's coverage. Moreover, to meet the increased demand, irrigated water has been supplied to over 2,300 farmlands from nearby areas by constructing 13 water control towers.
