Working committee meeting: Meeting to address impact of COVID-19 on nat’l economy

The opening ceremony of training on entering into the international standard contracts and documents was held at the ground floor of the Ministry of Legal Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw in 9:30 Am on January 15 and the Union Minister Union Attorney General Dr. Thida Oo gave an opening speech.

In her speech, the Union Minister Union Attorney General said that the Commercial Contracts Division of the Legal Advice Department under the Ministry of Legal Affairs is rendering legal Services by vetting and giving advice on the Commercial (draft) Contracts such as Joint-Venture Agreement, Lease Agreements, Build-Operate- and Transfer Contracts, Supply Contracts, Loan Agreements, Production Sharing Contracts, Memoranda of Understanding, Consultancy Agreement, Construction Agreements.

The Ministry of Legal Affairs is implementing the Strategic Plan (2020-2024). The first of the two objectives under second goal is to give more effective legal advices in timely manner.

As it’s learnt that the lectures regarding with the terms and conditions of miscellaneous commercial contract, stock exchange agreement, Build-Operate- and Transfer Contracts will be given in the training, those will facilitate for the law officers of the Ministry of Legal Affairs to be able to vet the contracts more speedily and give qualified legal advices. The training is being attended by 60 trainees from the Ministry of Legal Affairs.
