35th liver transplant surgery: MoH Union Minister honored the surgery teams

Union Minister for Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, accompanied by Directors and officials from the Departments of Medical Services, Human Resources for Health and Medical Research inspected Specialty Hospital(500-bed) in Yangon on Tuesday and comforted the patient and liver donor who underwent the 35th liver transplant surgery.

The liver transplant surgery was successfully performed on December 18th and necessary medical treatment is being provided to the patient and liver donor in the ICU.

The liver transplant operation was conducted by a surgical team with the guidance of the Ministry of Health and it was conducted successfully with the cooperation of medical professionals, nurses and staff.

Then, the Union Minister and party extended words of thanks to Professor Kwang Woong Lee and Dr. Jaeyoon Kim of Seoul National University Hospital who performed the liver transplant surgery in cooperation with the medical specialists, nurses and medical team leaders, discussed further cooperation in liver transplant surgery and presented memorable gifts.

Liver transplant surgeries were performed successfully in New Yangon General Hospital, Yangon Specialty Hospital(500-bed), Mandalay General Hospital and Yangon Children Hospital and operations were resumed after COVID-19 pandemic.
