ASCC Ministerial Meeting:Delegation led by MoRAC DM attended the meeting

Myanmar delegation led by the Deputy minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Daw Nu Mra Zan attended the 31st Meeting of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Council organized by the ASEAN rotating Chairmanship of Lao People’s Democratic Republic held at Luang Prabang City from 23rd to 26th of March and arrived back 5:30 PM on 26th .

The meeting was president by the Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of LPDR Suanesavanh Vignaket and attended by members of the ASEAN Socio-cultural Community Council, Minister of Social Solidarity and Inclusion of Timor Leste and relevant officials from ASEAN member states, ASEAN Secretary-General and deputy Secretary-General and officials.

During the first part of the meeting, the discussed the matters on the priorities to be implemented in 2024 by host country of Lao PDR, the progresses of drafting strategic plans of ASEAN-Social-Cultural Community post 2025, the documents to be submitted at 44th and 45th ASEAN Summit, reports of the meetings, statements and the approval for the summarized record of the ASEAN Socio-cultural Community Council.

During the second part of the meeting, the plenary ministerial meeting of the ASEAN social-cultural community was held and discussed relevant sectoral issues of ASEAN Socio-cultural Community.In her speech, the Deputy Minister expressed her recommendation for the priorities of social and cultural measures to be implemented by the during the Lao taking responsibility of of rotating Chairmanship.

Together with the Deputy Minister, Senior official of ASEAN Socio-cultural Community Council director general of the Department of Historical Research and National Library and officials of the related field attended the meeting. The Deputy Minister and delegation members also attended launching ceremony of ADME (ASEAN Database for Monitoring and Evaluation System) in conjuncture with the meeting of ASEAN Socio-cultural Community Council, dinner hosted in commemorating the meeting and enjoyed the Lao traditional songs and dances.

During in Luang Prabang City, the deputy minister and delegation members together with the representatives of ASEAN members countries studied the offering alms-food and visited Xieng Thong Temple, Luang Prabang National Museum and Tat Kuang Si Waterfall, it’s reported.
