Bagan Archaeological Zone: Ancient buildings were slightly damaged by the torrential rains

The ancient buildings were slightly damaged by the torrential rains on 13th and 14th May in the Bagan Archaeological Zone in BaganNyaung U Township, Mandalay Region.  Due to the heavy rains, the slight damages were happened at the northern archway of Ananda temple and other pagodas and temples.

The Chairmen of Nyaung U District Natural Disaster Management Committee and the township Natural Disaster Management Committee and members are conducting close supervision and officials of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum (Bagan-Branch) will carry out the repairing works as soon as possible to prevent further collapse, it is learnt.
