Banking Issues: Meeting on on-site findings and AML/CFTissues

Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar Daw Than Than Swe met money changers, non-banking companies and organizations at the Central Bank of Myanmar in Nay Pyi Taw to focus on on-site findings and Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism [AML/CFT] issues.

In this meeting, the Governor urged the money changer-licensed companies to attend training courses on the anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism opened by the Central Bank of Myanmar to understand the provisions of the anti-money laundering law and counter-terrorism law.

She also requested money changer licensed companies to inform authorities of the instigation that could lead to instability of the foreign exchange market. Also, the deputy governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar and the director-general of the Bureau of Special Investigation said that it is necessary to follow the AML/CFT law and regulations and to send in the required audit reports without fail.
