Beach Tourism Development: Making afield trip for hotel and tourism sector development

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism is cooperating with departments, Hotels and Tourism Associations and business operators for entering more visitors from local and abroad to the beaches and systematic sustainable development of beach tourism.

On Thursday, Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Aung Thaw met departments, Hotelier Association (Rakhine Zone), hoteliers and officials at the Aureum Palace Hotel on Ngapali beach. An Official of the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism (Thandwe Office In-charge) reported on progress of tourism industry in Ngapali beach area and implementation of destinations. The Union Minister said that arrival of more visitors to the beach will create more job opportunities for the locals and it needs to implement policy and management sectors for entering more visitors.

It needs to emphasize development of local tourism industry while attracting the arrival of tourists from abroad. Similarly, the foreign investments are needed to be invited. The Union Minister added that the Ministry will provide for the facilitation of the tasks and stressed the needs on implementation of new destinations, cleaning and beautifying the beaches, health and safety programs and striving for sustainable development of tourism industry in Ngapali beach area.

Participants discussed difficulties, implementation of Ngapali beach tourism development and beautifying of the beach on which the Union Minister coordinated essentials. The Union Minister and party then viewed around the hotels on the beach, arrangements of good services for the visitors, advertising to stay more visitors and implementation of garbage free zone and beautifying green zone in the hotel compound and environs.
