Coronavirus Protection: Thermal Screening In Myanmar-China Border

Authorities have been working for coronavirus protection at the border gates in Myanmar-China border.

In Panwa Township of Kachin State, health official and staff together with personnel from administration office, immigrant and police departments are conducting thermal screening since the 26th of January.

The death toll from China's new coronavirus grew to 80 on Monday, health authorities in Beijing said. The number of deaths from the flu-like virus in Hubei province climbed from 56 to 76 overnight with four deaths elsewhere. The total number of confirmed cases in China is now at 2,744.

The Hubei city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak, is already under virtual lockdown, with severe restrictions on movement in place in several other Chinese cities.

The newly-identified coronavirus can cause pneumonia, which has been deadly in some cases. Thailand, Hong Kong, the United States, Macau, Taiwan, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, France, Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, Canada and Nepal have reported cases of infection.
