Efforts For Rakhine State: Acceleration Of Agriculture And Livestock Sectors

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo and Rakhine State Chief Minister Dr. Aung Kyaw Min presided over a coordination meeting.

The meeting on acceleration of agriculture and livestock-based products production in Rakhine State focused on matters including the use of quality paddy strains, systematic farming with irrigation, opening of agricultural machinery training courses, cooperation with the private sector agricultural machinery services, encouragement to palm, mango and coffee trees planting business, expansion of fish, prawn and soft crab farming, cattle farming, economic zones establishment and preparations to offer Livestock Diploma Course at Kyauktaw Agricultural Institute.

After the meeting, the Union Minister visited fishing boat control center under the Rakhine State Department of Fisheries and inspected control measures in line with the existing laws and directives.

Also, in Yangon, the Union Minister visited General Food Technology Industry Co.,Ltd in Insein Township and inspected quality prawn and shrimp-based instant foods production to export to Japan, Europe and Australia. It’s leant that the Company exported 700 tons of the instant foods worth 4.8 million USD in the year of 2020-2021.
