Ethnic Affairs: MOEA Union Minister visits Magwe Region Office

Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung accompanied by concerned officials visited the Magwe Region Director Office of the ministry on November 24th. 

The Union Minister met with the officials and staff, and made a speech. He stressed the importance of the capacity building enhancement and systematic usage of the state fund. The departmental officials and staff are urged to perform their responsibilities in accordance with the existing rule and regulations, he added.

Then, the officials and staff presented work implementations and requirements and the Union Minister fulfilled the needs. In the afternoon, the Union Minister attended a meeting with the members of Ethnic Literature and Culture Associations and delivered a speech, highlighting that the Ministry is making exerted efforts to promote socio-economic development of the ethnic groups by protecting the rights of the ethnic groups and preserve their literature and culture in line with the set rule and regulations.

The relevant departments are already assigned to conduct the systematic registration of the Ethnic Literature and Culture Associations and to implement development projects preserving the characteristics of the ethnic groups.

Then, Magwe Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin gave a speech. After hearing reports presented by the attendees, the Union Minister and Chief Minister fulfilled the necessities. Then, the Union Minister, Chief Minister and region ministers provided 500,000 kyats each to Ethnic Literature and Culture Association respectively.
