FIFA Fan Festival in Doha welcomes over 1 million visitors

The FIFA Fan Festival in Doha was alive with Moroccan supporters enjoying their victory over Spain on Tuesday.

Morocco became only the fourth African country to reach the quarterfinals at the biggest soccer tournament in the world by beating Spain 3-0 in a penalty shootout after a 0-0 draw through extra time. Last Friday, the fan festival welcomed its millionth visitor, according to its director of FIFA Fan Festival.

The one millionth fan received two VIP tickets to the World Cup finale.Mead al Emadi, Director of FIFA Fan Festival said "I am happily saying that we got to welcome our millionth visitor on Friday with an average of 75,000 visitors every day. So the response was positive. People are happy when they are here and that is what matters to us.” The Fan Zone at Al Bidda Park plans major concerts as well during the tournament.
