Flood In Hlaingbwe: 36 Schools Have Been Shut Temporarily

36 basic education schools have been shut temporarily in Hlaing Bwe Township, Kayin State because of heavy rains, causing floods. 

According to the observations at 9:00 am M.S.T on Tuesday, the Hlaing Bwe creek exceeded 1,035-cm above its danger mark of 980 cm in Hlaing Bwe township and Than Lwin River was at 1,075-cm there.

For the safety of the students, 21 schools in Hlaing Bwe Township and 15 schools in Paing Kyon, altogether 36 schools have been closed temporarily. With the arrangement of the Township Natural Disaster Management Committee, 572 people of 108 households from low-lying areas in the township have also been evacuated at the safer place because of floods.
