French Riviera City keen to use algorithms-powered CCTVs

A major tourist destination on the French Riviera, the city of Nice is experimenting with video surveillance powered by algorithms to combat daily crimes and Nice's mayor invested millions over the years.

According to the Deputy Chief in charge of security for the city of Nice, it identifies the person and object when they leave it on the pavement. This solution has been approved by the public prosecutor's office and can use it in a number of places that have been identified as being particularly prone to illegal dumping. The city's Head of Security made explanation how the system works and what they hope to do with it.
