A Generous Offering: 13th Kathina Donation Ceremony at the C-in-CDS Office

Families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy, Air) organized the 13th Kathina Donation Ceremony on Friday. Prior to the ceremony, Chairman of the State Administration Council, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife, and party, viewed the display of donated items for the monasteries.
The Senior General and wife also offered an emerald rice bowl, flowers, water, light, and fruit to the Buddha Image in the Anawrahta Hall. During the donation ceremony, the Senior General and wife donated Kathina robes and offertories to the Yayzin Kan Oo Monastery Sayadaw of Nay Pyi Taw Zeyathiri Township and Patron Sayadaw of Pauk Myaing Sayadaw.
Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice Senior General Soe Win and wife also made similar donations to the Pali Sayadaw. This was followed by donations of Kathina robes and offertories to the Sayadaws and members of the Sangha by the Senior Military officers and their wives.
After the ceremony, a meal was offered to the Sayadaws and members of the Sangha. The event raised over 174.2 million kyats worth of 86 Padetha donation trees. The donated items were then sent to their respective monasteries.
