Healthcare for Monks and Nuns: Second dose of Hepatitis B vaccination

An event to give the second dose of hepatitis B vaccination for members of the Sangha and nuns in 8 townships of   Nay Pyi Taw was conducted at the Jivitadana Sangha Hospital in Pyinmana Township on Tuesday.

The ceremony was attended by the Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo and other concerned officials. And, the Union Minister and concerned officials encouraged 172 members of the Sangha receiving the 2nd dose of Hepatitis B vaccination.

After sharing medical knowledge by the medical superintendent and other officials to the members of the Sangha and nuns, the Union Minister and Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman donated cash for hepatitis B vaccine and other medicines to the Jivitadana Sangha Hospital.

On the same day, the second dose of hepatitis B vaccination giving events were held at the Maha Dhammika Yarma OhnTaw Monastery in Pyinmanna Township, 100-bed Hospital of Lewei Township, Mahajanaka Pariyatti Monastery in Tutkone Township and 300-bed Hospital in Pobbathiri Township. It’s reported that the 3rd dose of hepatitis B vaccination will be given free of charge on the 25th of February 2024.
