International Cultural Forum: Delegation led by MoRAC Union Minister attended the forum

Myanmar delegation led by the Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin arrived back in Myanmar on Monday evening after attending the 9thSt. Petersburg International Cultural Forum of Russian Federation held from 16th to 18th November.

The prominent cultural experts from more than 70 countries including the cultural organizations, BRICS Institute and Shanghai Cooperation Organization participatedand gave sector-wise discussions with 8 topics regarding cultural and artistic aspects in the forum.

On November 16th, the Myanmar delegation presented a topic titled “Learning History through Culture,Historical Memory and Artistic World, Historical Heritage as a Formative Environment”.

On November 17th, Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister U Tin Oo Lwin attended a meeting with the country represented Ministers and Deputy Ministers from 41 countries that and the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, H.E.Ms.Olga Lyubimova.

During the meeting, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation said that cultural diplomacy activities will be helpful for tackling current situations and issues in the future and urged all cultural experts to promote mutual cooperation for the sustainability of their own cultures.

Then, the Union Minister said that holding this forum is a reminder of the importance of regional cultural cooperation. Further collaborations will lead to better understanding of different cultures and deeper relations, he added.

He reiterated that the forum is a significant effort to promote the exchange of ideas, concepts and experiences related to policy formulation and implementation for the culture and arts sector.

And, the Union Minister attended a meeting where the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin met with Ministers, Deputy Ministers, prominent experts, and artists who participated in the forum.

After the speech by the Russian President, he then cordially replied the queries raised by the experts and representatives from various participating countries.  On November 18th, the Myanmar delegation attended the Heritage Award Ceremony held in State Heritage Museum of St Petersburg and viewed around there.  

Then, the delegation, together with Ministers and experts from the various participating countries enjoyed the stage performances of Opera and Ballet Stars Gala at Mikhailovsky Theatre, honorary dinner hosted by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, the concert performed at State Academy Mariinsky Theatre and the performance of Russian orchestra presented at the Capella Theater.
